2017 Eyrie Vineyards Chardonnay Original Vines
James Suckling 95
Plantings span the mid-1960s to mid-1970s. The extra depth this
wine carries is immediately apparent on the nose with ripe peaches and
apricots, as well as orange citrus. The fleshy texture impresses, as does the
very clear, peach flavors that hold, amid attractively grippy tannins. Drink
over the next six to eight years.

NV Spark- Sparkling Brut Rose
Wine Advocate 88
The
NV Spark is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir, 37% Chasselas Doré and 8% Pinot Blanc,
from 31-year-old vines. It is an "ultra brut," although this
particular bottling is made using forced carbonation instead of méthode
Champenois. Medium to deep cherry-pink in color, it has aromas of cantaloupe,
strawberries, raspberries and lemon peel with notes of stone and toast. The
palate is dry with citrus and red berry flavors, spritely mousse and a
refreshing, mineral-driven finish.
2017 Eyrie Vineyards Pinot noir Estate
James Suckling 94
A
blend of all five Eyrie sites, this gives a guage on the 2017 harvest here, as
one that delivered fresh and complex style. Red-cherry, raspberry, blueberry
and leafy aromas with gently earthy and spicy tones in equal measure. The
palate has a very smooth core of fleshy red-cherry flavors and carries a
velvety tannin texture long and fresh. Seriously complex Pinot. Drink or hold.
2016 Eyrie Vineyards Outcrop Pinot noir
Wine Advocate 93
Medium
ruby-purple, the 2016 Pinot noir Outcrop opens with broody scents of smoked
meats, cracked peppercorn, garrigue and tar with blueberries, baked
blackberries, potpourri, earth and red berry notes. The palate is medium-bodied
with intense, spicy fruits, a grainy frame and mouthwatering acidity, finishing
long and nuanced. Jason Lett says the Outcrop and The Eyrie Pinot noirs feature the same clones and elevation and have a similar aspect, but the main
difference between the two wines is vine age - the average vine age for Outcrop
is 27 years, while average vine age for The Eyrie Pinot noir is 47 years
2016 Eyrie Vineyards Roland Green Pinot noir
James Suckling 95
From
pure volcanic soil, this has violet aromas with blueberry, cherry and plum
notes, as well as a thread of blackcurrants. The palate has a very juicy edge
with such succulent acidity that delivers a lively drive of fresh, quite crisp,
blue-fruit flavors. Try from 2024.

2015 Eyrie Vineyards South Block Reserve Pinot noir
James Suckling 97
The
top Eyrie Pinot cuvee, a partial selection of ten rows. Very rich aromas of
fresh and dried red cherries, as well as notes of hauntingly spicy forest wood
and fresh brown mushrooms. The palate has such composed and regal style with
very suavely delivered flavors of ripe red to dark cherries that hold and
expand out of the long, fine and elegantly focused finish. impeccable balanced.
Drink or hold.
2017 Eyrie Vineyards Trousseau

and salty palate. Super refreshing and full of character. Drink now.
